How it works

From “how much will this cost?” to an accepted, documented delivery without leaving Vessel Relay.

  1. 1

    Get an estimate

Enter your boat, where it is and where it's going. See distance, likely duration, suggested crew and a price range, with inside and offshore options where they differ.

  2. 2

    Describe the move

Tell us the dates, your flexibility and the boat's condition, including any known issues. Exact marina details stay private until you book.

  3. 3

    Compare proposals

Qualified captains propose with fixed professional fees kept separate from estimated expenses, so quotes compare like for like. Verified history and self-reported history are always labelled differently.

  4. 4

    Book and pay once

Accept a proposal and sign the terms. Your payment is held and released to the captain only after you accept the delivery.

  5. 5

    Readiness and departure

Your insurance is reviewed and the captain inspects the boat with photos. No boat leaves with an open safety issue.

  6. 6

    Follow the trip

See position updates at least daily, every receipt as it's logged, and an immediate alert for anything serious.

  7. 7

    Accept the delivery

Compare departure and arrival records side by side: engine hours, fuel, condition and photos. Then release payment.

Owners pay a 7% service fee on captain and crew fees only, never on fuel, dockage, travel or other expenses.
